In the 1920s and 1930s, this area was developed as a residential neighborhood called Eastmere. The Eastmere area included a lake that was once utilized for real estate development. In the late 1950s, the land was transferred to the City of Addison, who then filled in the lake, creating the 10-acre Addison Circle Park.
